Q: How long do I need to study to be ready for the official ASE test?
A: Everyone is different and you know what works best for you. Studies show that the more time you invest in studying and practicing, the better the outcome. This is true of many things but especially true of taking the ASE test. Don’t make the same mistake some technicians do by signing up for a subscription a few days before you take the official test and only take a few practice tests. It’s highly likely that you won’t pass. Invest a little time in your future and chances are you’ll be successful!
Q: How does the Guarantee to Pass the Test work?
A: We know we’re the best in the industry at providing online ASE testing! If you purchased a 30 or 60-day subscription and regularly take our practice tests you will pass the official ASE test. If you don’t pass you will need to submit a copy your test results document from the testing board that shows your score and other relevant information to identify you. You can submit this on our Contact Us page and select the Subscription Extension or Refund Request link to submit your request. On this form you will be given the choice of a 100% refund of the subscription price or a FREE extension of your membership for an additional 60 days.* Please allow 48 hours to process either of these requests. No requests will be processed without proper official ASE scores documentation. Refund or extension requests must be submitted within 30 days of taking your official ASE test.
Q: Is my credit card information safe when purchasing a subscription?
A: The answer is YES. We’ve partnered with PayPal®, the industry leader in secure online payments. We do not collect or store any of your credit card information. Once you submit a form to purchase a subscription, you are taken directly to the secure PayPal® website. You will then choose your method of payment and PayPal® processes it. Upon payment confirmation you will be taken to our website where you can log into your new account.
Q: What if I take the official ASE test and pass before my subscription is over?
A: First of all let us be one of the first to say “Congratulations on passing the test”! This is our goal and we are very happy for you. If you pass the test early you can simply let your subscription expire. There’s nothing to do. There are no pro-rated refunds for subscription time not used.
Q: What if I have a question and need to call?
A: Our website is designed to be efficient and self serve. Most questions can be answered with our FAQ’s or through a form submission on our Contact Us page. Our normal support hours are Monday through Friday 8AM to 6PM Eastern Standard time. We monitor all form and email submissions 7 days a week. Our TOLL FREE number is 1-844-ASE-TEST (1-844-273-8378). If you have a question that requires a voice call and we aren’t available, you can either leave us a voice message, send an email to email@example.com, or use one of the forms on our Contact Us page, and one of our support team members will be in contact with you. We respond very quickly to questions submitted through our forms system.
Q: What if my subscription expires before I take the official ASE test and I want to extend it?
A: When you log in you will be taken directly to your Welcome page. Above your profile information on the right hand side you will see a date when your subscription will expire. If your subscription expires before you’re ready for it to, simply log into your account then go to the Get Started/Login page and choose the subscription plan you wish to purchase. You can recognize if your account has expired if you log in and see the Welcome tab but not the Your ASE Tests tab. The Your ASE Tests tab only shows up during your active subscription period.
Q: Are your practice tests the same as the official ASE test?
A: While the practice tests are not exactly the same as the official ASE tests, the questions and answers are developed and formatted to simulate the type of questions you will see on the official ASE tests. Our test questions are developed by some of the same folks who contributed to the development of the actual ASE certification tests.
Q: Are you affiliated with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE)?
A: ASE Test Prep is not affiliated with the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE). Our practice tests are written and updated by some of the same folks who helped write questions for the official ASE test. They are also experts in the automotive service, training and education field.
Q: What if I forgot my password?
A: First and most important, make sure that your email spam filter is not blocking emails from asetestprep.com. To retrieve your password click on the Get Started/Login page, then click on the Login to Your Account button. Below the login box you will see a link that reads Lost your password? Click this link and enter your username or email. You will receive an email with a link to reset your password. If you still have difficulty please send an email including your username and telephone number to firstname.lastname@example.org We’ll help get you up and going quickly.
Q: I’m having trouble reading the security code on the login window.
A: This code is a high level of security that makes it extremely difficult for automated computer programs to hack into your account. It’s an industry standard and is the best protection we can offer. Others getting into your account may lock your access and make it very difficult for you to log into your account. Here are some tips that may help you read the security code.
- While the code may display upper case letters, entering all lower case letters works fine.
- Just to the right of the code entry box there are a few buttons. The first button shows a circular shaped graphic with two arrows. Clicking this button will change the code until you see one that is easier to read. Clicking this does not count as a login attempt.
- The button beneath the above mentioned button shows a speaker icon. Click this and a code will be played through your speakers. Enter the code you hear into the code entry box.
Q: I can’t log into my account because of multiple IP addresses.
A: Sharing of accounts is expressly prohibited. The system keeps track of the IP addresses that are used to log into your account. If too many unique IP addresses are used, the system will automatically lock you out of your account for a period of time. Please be sure to log out of your account before leaving the website.
Q: What if I find what I believe is an error in any of your practice tests?
A: We work hard to give you the best practice tests. If you feel that part of a question or answer is not correct, doing the following. 1. Copy the question word for word, open the Speak Out form, and paste the question into the Describe your experience box. Also include what ASE area the question was found in and don’t forget to include a description of why you feel it is incorrect. Our ASE test experts will review your information and determine if a change is necessary.
Q: I was a previous customer and want to subscribe again.
A: Most technicians who’ve used our practice tests come back when it’s time to take their next ASE test. To us it’s the best form of flattery and we realize that we must be doing something right. If you want to subscribe again you can use the same email address and username you used the last time you subscribed. Upon resubscribing you will be able to create your password. This can be the same password as your previous subscription or a totally new one.
Q: Do you offer subscription lengths other than 7, 30, or 60-days?
A: The 7, 30, and 60-day subscriptions are the most popular and are specially priced. We can offer you custom subscription lengths. Simply use the Custom Subscription Length form and let us know how long of a period you would like. We will send you a price. If the price is agreeable to you, we will send you an invoice to pay via PayPal®. Once paid, we will create your account for you and send you the information right away. We’re here to help you in any way possible because we want nothing more than for you to succeed!
